My brain froze for a second due to the sheer beauty of this cover. Of course, all of your art is beautiful but this one took my breath away. He looks upset about something. I wonder what it could be... Well, I'll just have to wait and see.
Thanks! I had planned on adding more brush strokes to break up the smoothness so that the "painted" effect was stonger, but time constraints came into play.
Nice!! Could have fooled me! The use of lighting and sheer amount of detail begins to do that for you. Maybe the scale I am looking at (smaller due to computer screen) contributes as well.
lol, yeah, I tend to work a little backwards in that respect, where I rough the image up after I've already refined it. I would never do it that way with traditional paint, but with digital, rough "brush strokes" are less spontaneous and take some finessing to make them feel natural...so I like to do selectively at the end.
Nice!!! Yeah, digital painting is its own world in a lot of respects. Layers always let you have the best of both worlds as well... both sharp and smudged effect!
